Description:
Furin - the term for Japanese wind bells - is a glass craft that dates back 200+ years to the late Edo period and its chime is said to have cooling effects during the hot summer months. Nowadays, they are seen and heard everywhere in summer time Japan.
This handblown furin has been carefully crafted to create its distinct sound by using crystal glass for the zetsu - or bell clapper - with fine grooves. Hang it by a window or entryway, to enjoy the peaceful acoustics.
Each color takes inspiration from a natural summer element:
Blue embodies summer winds;
Light Blue represents mountain streams;
Green reflects the colors of lush mountain skies; and
Yellow represents the moon light rising.
