The original intention for this round box—crafted using an ancient wood-bending technique—is to keep the umbilical cord as a memento of the bond between parent and child, a long-standing tradition in Japan.  Free of corners or sharp edges and long considered an ideal, stable form, the round box embodies both softness and strength, transforming a symbol of connection into a lasting keepsake.
