Shirono Grooved Tumbler

Description:
These grooved tumblers are hand-shaped on a potter’s wheel to create their softly rounded forms, then delicately carved to reveal fine horizontal lines that add subtle texture and rhythm.

Fired in a traditional multi-chambered climbing kiln using Japanese red pine as firewood, the writhing movement of flame through each chamber leaves a distinct salmon blush. A natural occurrence shaped by heat and atmosphere, making each piece one of a kind.

Handmade in Nagasaki, Japan.
